pureblood   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-21)
Pureblood wizards are wizards that have no muggles whatsoever in their genealogical pedigree.
Pureblood wizards and witches believe that this behavior taints the magical race, and a few extremists have even campaigned for the reclassification of muggles as unintelligent beasts as opposed to beings.
One type believes that marriage to Muggles is acceptable and often necessary, and remain pureblood only because the people they happened to meet and fell in love with were magical (such as the Weasley family).

 HPL: Blood Status
Pureblood families are extremely rare, and thus are interrelated; given the limited selection of potential pureblood spouses, purebloods are getting rarer as their members either become more liberal and marry out, so that their descendants are no longer pureblood, or consciously restrict themselves to pureblood marriages.
The only issue with maintaining pureblood purity is that it requires either a lucky chance (falling in love with someone who happens to qualify as a fellow pureblood) or deliberately maintaining a prejudiced attitude about who is acceptable.
Essentially, the term is used (generally by prejudiced purebloods as an insult, but occasionally ironically by those to whom it applies) to refer to a pureblood witch or wizard who doesn't subscribe to the bigoted extreme of pureblood-consciousness.

It seems this has to be the case, cause purebloods seem OLD (the council from Blade 1), and have biological children (Damoskinos and his two children in Blade 2).
In the book it said Danica was half pureblood half infect, but that could have been the author just putting their own ideas into it, as that doesn't seem possible given what part 2 said.
Trinity left a lot to the imagination, so since they left out the whole pureblood thing I assumed by that point all purebloods had been wiped out by Blade, and all that were left were infected.

Throughout the magical world of Harry Potter, the issue concerning half blood and pureblood is constantly scrutinized and debated.

Ancient pureblood families would have very ancient traditions, as small or large as they may be.
As to who that is, I don't really have much of a guess...some have suggested a sister or cousin of Lucius resulting in the fast friendship between the two men as well as a forged alliance between the two families.
It would probably have to be a Gryffindor, as well as a mostly pureblood because they have to have the lineage right (but, will probably be a half blood..is 12:30 here people ;)) but have at least somewhere a line of relatively pureblood or noble family.

The Lusitano horse has been bred as a saddle horse for thousands of years in its native land, the Iberia peninsula, which is modern day Portugal and Spain.
In Portugal it is known as the Pureblood Lusitano Horse (after Lusitania, the Roman name for modern day Portugal) and in Spain, as the Spanish Pure Race Horse.
The Lusitano horse was the ultimate war horse of the middle ages, became the premier high school horse during the renaiscance period, and in modern times, has become the ultimate sport horse, easily trained and handled, and excels at dressage, jumping, three day eventing, carriage driving and as a personal mount.

As Dumbledore says at the end of CS, "It is our choices, Harry, that show us what we truly are, far more than our abilities (CS18)."
I've never fully understood why this seems to be a source of so much confusion--though I have noticed that there are some HP fandom sites that misrepresent this information, so perhaps that's why.
So unless Hagrid is also either lying or somehow misunderstands the criteria for 'blood status' (both of which seem highly unlikely), then we know Harry is not considered a pureblood just because both of his parents are wizards.

I think there is a chance that it has something to do with Mark Evans, he's only 10 so he can't really be a wizard yet, it could have something to do with a totally new charater (which sounds like the most likely theory.) Can't wait till the book comes out!
