		Gelb received the biggest critical and commercial success of his career with his Chore of Enchantment album in 2000.
		The latter project, designed as the follow-up to the intimate Hisser, was issued in early 2001 under the title Confluence, and displayed a sound closer to Giant Sand than any of Gelb's previous solo outings.
		Gelb returned in 2003 with the similarly muted Listener album, and released Arizona Amp and Alternator in 2005.

		The somewhere between funny and odd album title, not to mention the vegetable-people art on the inside, gives a fair enough indication as to where the Ass Ponys would go with their major-label bow -- namely, in the same direction as always, and with fine results.

		The only saving grace is "Prince of Darkness." Even Dave Mustaine himself adimtted this album sucked and when even the band members admit the album sucks that's a hint and a half to stay the hell away from it.
		Basically this album is a huge disappointment, because the band had such a huge presence as a speedmetal band and maybe was even greater as just an ordinary heavy metal band(whatever you consider Youthanasia and Countdown to be, either way i like them).
		But there are higher points to the album: the slow songs are decent and all the solos are decent but maybe too short.

		And, with the exception of the poetry, the entire album is worth a listen.

		BUT (and this is a big but to still call it a "LIVE" album), then Metallica took the raw tracks back to the studio and OVERDUBBED any and all flaws they could find.
