Pygmoelian Written by Larry Doyle Directed by Mark Kirkland ============================================================================== Production code: BABF12 Original Airdate on FOX: 27-Feb-2000 Capsule revision A (23-Nov-2000) ============================================================================== > "TV Guide" Synopsis ============================================================================== [From milpool.com] Moe wins Duff's "beer-tending" contest but loses out on making their calendar.
"Pygmoelian" had many elements of humor to remind me how much I miss the Season 6-8 episodes, such as Duff Days, the bandage-removing gag, the whole "It Never Ends" bit and many more which I can't think of right now.
For her % trouble, she gets sent to the "Duff Designated Drivers' Rockin' Fun % Zone." It's not as much fun as it sounds, unless being put in a box % surrounded by razor wire is your idea of a good time.

Pygmoelian - not sure why, but I like this one more than the usual newer episode.
I, too, like Pygmoelian more than would be suggested by being part of season 11.
And yes, this list is a copy of yours minus the two that weren't memorable enough to rank.

If I'd forced myself to post results right now, then there'd be a clear #1, a jumble for 2-4, and then I'd flip the bottom two based on Mark's feedback.
Side question: How easily to you confuse Pygmoelian (Moe gets a facelift) with Homer the Moe (Moe goes back to college; Homer runs the bar for awhile; cameo by R.E.M.)?
Pygmoelian -- Aside from the competition at the beginning, nothing to recommend this one.

The Simpsons Archive: "Advertising of America's Beer Companies and the Duff Corporation"
Duff Man's coined phrase is some masculine formed grunt of "Oh yeah" and usually is followed by some sort of body thrusting.
In "Pygmoelian," Duff Man judges the Beertender of the Year competition.
In "Pygmoelian," Springfield celebrates "Duff Days - A Lost Day for the Whole Family." The Simpsons go to the fair and are greeted by a man in a beer costume who says "Drink Duff" and then whispers "responsibly" afterwards.

Most of the jokes were in good taste and not full of sexual innuedoes.
It was also nice to see some returning characters from past Simpsons eps (Stampy the elephant, Lindsay Neagle, the surgeon from Pygmoelian).
And don't forget Cookie, from the West side.

BTW...plotwise, do you think the story arc involving the Rigellians (Kodos and Kang), the evil New Buzz Cola and the reality show "Foolish Earthlings" is one of the darkest Simpsons story arcs yet?
Me, well...it's good, but maybe we can add a prologue where Kodos and Kang try out their new cola on an unsuspecting planet, a beautiful princess (looks like Tatiana from "Pygmoelian" with telepathy) escapes her doomed homeworld.
She has been an unwitting victim of the Rigellian's evil cola plot, the new reality show, and has to warn Earth of the scheme, but no one believes her.
