  H. Curtis Wright's Astonishing demonstration
The tablet was inscribed with ancient writings indicating that the kingdom of the Persians would be overthrown by the Greeks.
The second tablet applies to a specific operation in a particular area and regulates, in addition to mining practices, the use of public baths, the cobbling of shoes, the cutting of hair, the fulling of cloth, and the exemption of schoolmasters from dues payable to the procurator.

 The Etruscans - Cere
The ancient city (Cisra for the Etruscans, Agylia for the Greeks and for the Greeks) famous for its maritime trading, occupied an immense area protected by steep slopes and fortifications.
Pyrgi was one of the ports of the city of Caere, lying about eight miles away and was very famous with the Etruscans for its sacred area.

 The Etruscan Language in General
Bilingual texts include three gold tablets written in Phoenician and Etruscan, found in 1964 at Pyrgi, the port of Caere, as well as some thirty Etruscan-Latin inscriptions.
The Iguvine Tablets, for example, in the Umbrian language, are 'quasi-bilingual', written partly in the Etruscan and partly in a Latin alphabet, and resemble religious inscriptions of Etruria in both structure and content.
The discovery of the Pyrgi tablets, hailed as the long-sought-after 'bilingual' in 1964, marked a turning-point in Etruscan studies.

 Classification of the Languages
The process of deciphering Etruscan continues even to this day, and thanks to a patient application of Pallottino's methods and a certain amount of educated guesswork, some of the languages' vocabulary and basic grammar have been revealed.
An important advancement came in the 1960's with the discovery of the Pyrgi tablets, written in Etruscan and Phoenician.
Phoenician is a known language, so it was possible to compare the two texts, and though the Phoenician turned out not to be a literal translation of the Etruscan, the content was similar enough to prove useful.

P. points out that Tempestates was not the first Phoenician divinity who had come to Rome: the Pyrgi tablets offer the synchronism of Ishtar with Juno.
It is in this context that P. goes on to explore the possibility that some changes in Roman cult that can be traced to the period of the Punic wars are likewise efforts to extort favor from Punic divinities who had already been identified (or syncreted if that is a word) with Greco-Roman divinities.

The Etruscan impact on Rome is evident, but shortcomings in discovering epigraphic records of Etruscan city sites (as opposed to necropolises) and in understanding the Etruscan language, limit the historical data derivable from Etruscology.

Although stated less explicitly in these articles, it appears that some scripts came into existence in places of cultural contact, less as blatant copying than as counter-markings pertaining to opposing ethnic or linguistic groups.
Most “biscripts” of pivotal importance to decipherment, including the Rosetta Stone, Diego de Landa’s Maya abecedario, the Pyrgi tablets, and late Ogam and Latin texts in Wales, come from collisions between, and accommodations among, dominant and subordinate groups.
At such membranes of contact the newly devised script often displayed radically different principles of organization from its parent or stimulus, as in the early alphabet, Sequoyah’s syllabary, Ogam or Naxi.
