The religion of Pyro (St. John Allerdyce)
John Allerdyce was known as "Pyro", a comic book character and a member of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants, a group of mutant super-villains that fought the X-Men on numerous occasions.
Pyro was also a member of the government-sponsored superteam known as "Freedom Force." This team was comprised primarily of former members of the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants who were working for the government in exchange for a pardon for their past crimes.
Pyro was strongly implied to be Catholic (or at least of a Catholic background)...although I guess not a very good one.

First of all, in the regular comics Rogue has the powers of flight and invulnerability, which she gained from Ms.
Furthermore, the Rogue of the comics has *never* revealed her real name on-panel, and it's strongly believed that if anyone knows it other than Rogue's original parents, it would be Mystique (Rogue's foster mother) or Destiny (Mystique's long-time companion).
While continuity wasn't always in line with the comics (the most obvious examples being Morph's inclusion and the not-quite-right attempt at the Phoenix Saga), the characterization was great.

However, she became very prominent in the X-Men comics when the plotline about her old Diaries was introduced; Mystique and some of the X-Men searched for them until apparently deciding they'd negated the frustrating (and often gloomy) predictions Destiny had made as a teenager.

So the movie Brotherhood didn't have that original of a plan it was a typical comic scheme but it was cool to see the Brotherhood on the big screen (actually i first saw the movie on TV but most saw it first on the big screen).
In the original series the Brotherhood appeared only in two episodes in the whole five season run of the series while in the next X-Men TV show the Brotherhood had five appearences in the first season.
This Brotherhood was involved in mostly kidnap the Rogue operations and with objectives that weak they never made a big splash in the series as Magneto and his crazy Acolytes would.
