	QBE Insurance profit jumps after acquisitions - Marketplace by Bloomberg - International Herald Tribune
		Equal in capacity, QBE and Amlin are the two biggest underwriters at Lloyd's of London, the world's largest insurance market, where QBE manages 1 billion pounds, or $1.9 billion, of underwriting capacity this year, up 2.6 percent from 2005.
		QBE purchased Nordic Aviation Insurance, based in Copenhagen, in March and hired five general aviation underwriters in London, mostly from Allianz, in the first quarter of this year, adding 150 million dollars of premium income in 2007.
		QBE is "on target" to lift premium income by 10 percent to 10.3 billion dollars in the full year, even without purchasing competitors, as overall policy prices increase by about 7 percent, O'Halloran said.
