The policy, ratified by the QMJHL's board of governors last week and announced Wednesday, covers "behaviours, words, acts, gestures or writings that affect the dignity and the honour of any person and that are made in relation with race, gender, colour, religion, language, ethnic or national origin, sexual orientation, handicap or social condition."
Punishments, which can include fines and suspensions or ejections for fans, are at the league's discretion.
"The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League is committed to enforcing this zero-tolerance policy to ensure a working environment without discrimination," QMJHL commissioner Gilles Courteau said in a statement.

For his play in 2005-06 with Moncton, Yandle earned the Emile Bouchard Trophy as the QMJHL’s best defenseman (the same trophy that Hall of Famer Ray Bourque won in 1979 while playing with Verdun), the Telus Trophy as defensive player of the year and was a First Team QMJHL All-Star selection.
Among QMJHL defensemen, Yandle finished first in both assists and points, tied for 2nd in goals, 3rd in shots (282), tied for 3rd in power play goals (15) and 4th in plus/minus (+50).
Yandle and the Wildcats are presently competing against Quebec in the President’s Cup to determine the QMJHL champion.

Despite his superb numbers, Hemsky was not selected as the QMJHL's rookie of the year, as the league chose Chicoutimi Sagueneens' Pierre-Marc Bouchard instead.
Hemsky finished the 2001 season as the 9th ranked prospect among North American prospects for the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, which was also the highest ranking for a Q player.
Hemsky can not be assigned to the minors as he was drafted out of the CHL, which states that a player cannot play professional hockey (other than the NHL) until they are 20 years of age, or have played 4 seasons of Major Junior Hockey.

As for the QMJHL Defensive Player of the week, the award was given to goaltender Josh Tordjman, of the Victoriaville Tigres, who allowed his team to stay unbeaten in its last six games (5-0-1).
During the week-end, thanks to the fact that they were unbeaten in their last 6 games, the Tigres gained two positions in the overall standings of the QMJHL and are now in 12th position.
Earlier this season, Tordjman was named QMJHL Defensive Player of the Week for the period stretching from November 29th to December 5th.

LONGUEUIL (QMJHL) - According to the new attendance report issued today by the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, the League is having an exceptional season, recording a 7.5% rise in attendance figures compared to the same period of time last year.
Considering this growth, the QMJHL is well on its way to erase its all-time record, established in 1999-2000, of 1,759,340 fans.
Among them, the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, who are currently in second position in the overall standings of the QMJHL, lead the way with an increase of 1,245 fans per game, compared to the same number of games last year.

LONGUEUIL (QMJHL) - The Commissioner of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League, Mr Gilles Courteau, maintained the 5-game suspension issued to Moncton Wildcats' goaltender Corey Crawford, following incidents that occurred on Wednesday December 15th in the game against the Halifax Mooseheads.
The management of the Wildcats appealed the 5-game suspension according to the QMJHL rules and in the required delay.
Although this was Corey Crawford's first offence since he joined the QMJHL, I believe that his actions were severe, unacceptable and very dangerous since they could a caused important injuries to a fan, a player or an official", explained Mr Courteau.

This is by no means a complete directory or listing, it's just a photo gallery of the various former QMJHL arenas that I've happened to see in my travels around this great country, along with brief descriptions/explanations.
The Water Street Arena, also known as Si Miller Arena after the city of Cornwall's long-serving Director of Parks and Recreation, was the original home of the QMJHL Royals from 1969 to 1976.
This is a list of all the other former QMJHL arenas that I am aware of.
