Topic: QMQP

Note that QMQP is not designed for mail injection from dumb clients that are unable to build complete messages and envelopes.
A QMQP server shouldn't even have to glance at incoming messages; its only job is to queue them and relay them to the outside world.
QMQP may be used directly on top of TCP.

Postfix QMQP server support =========================== Postfix has preliminary server support for the QMQP protocol, so that Postfix can be used as a backend for the Ezmlm-idx mailing list manager.
Turning on the Postfix QMQP service =================================== To enable QMQP server support on an existing Postfix system you have to add the following line to /etc/postfix/master.cf: 628 inet n - n - - qmqpd A "postfix reload" command is necessary to enable the service.
This is because the QMQP server relays mail to any destination (the "protocol" has no provision to reject specific recipients).

qmqpd(8): Postfix QMQP server - Linux man page
Each message is piped through the cleanup(8) daemon, and is placed into the incoming queue as one single queue file.
The QMQP server implements one access policy: only explicitly authorized client hosts are allowed to use the service.
The QMQP protocol requires the server to receive the entire message before replying.

The computer runs qmail for its own local deliveries, but it also has ezmlm configured to use a separate mini-qmail installation for the mailing list.
QMQP is typically 100 times faster than SMTP here; for example, you can send a 1000-recipient message through a 28.8 modem in about 10 seconds.
Remember that users won't be able to send mail if all the QMQP servers are down.

QMQP is very simple -- it maybe implemented either in Postfix, or in...avcheck!
