In fact, one of the main ways to kill people in QPong is by blasting a ball into them (resulting in instant gibbage).
I remember in the old QPong they were super annoying.
Ok, I put them all in my q3config.cfg and refreshed the favorites in the built in browser, and these are the only ones that show up as running.

Apart from Q3 TC he really loves Q2 QPong, which is the only reason he tolerates MarcPG to the extend he does, and SCRABBLE.
His prefered method of killing is a bullet in the back and his subconscious urges him to shot his teammates from time to time, whose got used to that.
Another Mod he really loves is QPong and his prefered variant of TC is ctf.

Map Votes have been rolling in but not as many as I expected.  Hurry up and e-mail me your choices for the three maps that you would like to see used in the tournament.  Deadline to vote for your favorite maps is Dec 19.
Had some very good QPONG action tonight.  I added a new message forum to the site which everyone should enjoy.  It will hopefully promote more posting than the old forum did.

Unzip it to your ROOT directory when you have this checked (example: if quake2 is at c:\quake2, unzip it to c:).
This is the QPong client pack, containing everything required for internet play.

I recently asked Binary Cowboy about bot support in the QPong Arena mod and he had this to say:
it would take like 4 years to get the bots to play qpong, so I doubt it will ever be supported.
I'm not sure though, the new team arena code is supposed to have better bot code; so we'll see.

I have a friend who recently bought and setup the linksys cable/dsl router and we are trying to play some old school QPONG on a dedicated server...problem is..
All this works through the Linksys box connecting to my buddies house hosting Lithium II.
I am not sure what the port command is for Quake2 - been a long time since we played it.

Will there be a WP Qpong server as i reinstalled everting now and ready to go.
The other UK Qpong server seems empty all the time so Im told.
You could have things like Qpong in fun small doses then, besides focusing on the main servers that are run.

Catch the Chicken is kinda cool at times, and I am still completely undefeated at Catch The Chicken on the Maybe.Net server, having won all 9 rounds that I played (and yes, there were other players).
QPong is a cool mod too; however it is difficult to find a QPong server with a decent ping rate.
The AllStar levels are interesting, if not a little on the HUGE side (see the Resevoir level sometime).

QPong Arena wasn't as fun, but it is still worth playing.
QPong and Proball were tons of fun but few people played them because they didn't get much publicity.
With HL2 it should be very easy (for someone that knows what they are doing) to make either of these mods.

The in first time the LsD guys played RA2, Qpong and sometimes FT weekly on LAN-partys.
A long time Lords of Doom was LAN-only Clan until Pennywise and Sibi in autumn 2000 decided to play Freeze Tag on the BW servers.
We play our Clanwars in Freeze Tag and sometimes in Qpong (nobody wants to challenge us in Qpong).

We here, at PongSource, we remember the old days.
One of our favorites was Qpong for Quake.
Some of the mods coming out for Half-life 2 do look good, but the developers seem to be more into completely modifing the game.

Choosing between these two is pretty tough for me. Sure, I started up (and still run) PlanetHalfLife, but I used to be a loyal id Software fanboy: back when Quake II came out I was running PlanetQuake, and Quake II was the first game I ever saw in its full, 3D-accellerated glory.
Quake II produced some great mods -- including QPong, probably my favorite mod of all-time -- but let's face it, the single-player gameplay was pretty weak and forgettable.
And it felt a little sluggish when compared to the original Quake.
