 Missing Prayers Through Sleep
I was confused when I read in your column that prayers may not be offered after their time has passed in what is known as qadaa.
The Prophet says: “Whoever misses a prayer through sleep or forgetfulness should offer it when he is conscious of it, as this is its time.” You see, here we have an exception, because sleeping through the time range of a prayer, and being unconscious, are legitimate reasons for missing a prayer.
Sometimes after having committed a mistake that upsets a relative or a friend we recognize that we are to blame for the wrong that had taken place.

Discover Islam and Muslims - The Rulings of Ramadan - Chapter 8: Things which Invalidate the Fast
Any fast thus invalidated will require both the Qadaa (make up for that day) as well as a material atonement (Kaffaarah, which corresponds to freeing a slave, fasting two consecutive months or feeding sixty people, where these three alternatives should be expiated in the same order mentioned in the Hadeeth).
Contrary to widespread misconception, a day thus invalidated cannot be atoned in the same way as intercourse; it cannot even be atoned by even fasting the entire life.
Thus, in addition to the qadaa (making up by fasting a day for the missed day), the only way to atone such an act would be true sincere repentance and strong determination never to do it again.

 The Fundamental Articles of Faith
We should try again and again, and if the results are not satisfactory, then we know that we have tried our best and cannot be held responsible for the results, because what is beyond our capacity and responsibility is the affair of God alone.
The Muslims call this article of Faith the belief in ‘Qadaa’ and ‘Qaday’, which simply means, in other words, that the Timeless Knowledge of God anticipates events, and that events take place according to the exact Knowledge of God (Qur’an, for example, 18:29; 41:46; 53:33-62; 54:49; 65:3; 76:30-31).
The true Muslim believes that God's creation is meaningful and that life has a sublime purpose beyond the physical needs and material activities of man. The purpose of life is to worship God.
