Qinghai Lake or Lake Koko Nor (Tibetan: mtsho khri shor rgyal mo or མཚོ་སྔོན་ mtsho sngon po; Chinese: 青海湖;, pinyin: Qīnghǎi Hú, "Blue Sea"; Mongolian: Хөхнуур [Höhnuur], "Blue Lake"; Classical Mongolian: ᠬᠥᠬᠡ ᠨᠠᠭᠤᠷ [Köke Naɣur]; Manchu: Huhu Noor, "Blue Lake") is the largest lake in China.
Qinghai Lake is also the largest drainless lake in the PRC and is located 3,205 m (10,515 feet) above sea level in a depression of the Tibetan Plateau.
Qinghai Lake is sandwiched between Hainan and Haibei Tibetan Autonomous Prefectures in the northeastern namesake province.

Two (apparently a pair) were on the freshwater lake (Xiao Bei Hu) at east end of Qinghai Lake on 21 June; they had not been there during an earlier visit.
In one area along the south shore of Qinghai Lake we found what proved to be 8 adults feeding 9 babies; we hardly had any others the whole trip.
We had hares daily on the Qinghai Plateau; it seems likely that some or all were this species that is endemic to the Tibetain-Qinghai Plateau.
