Chasers attempt to move the Quaffle to their opponents end of the field in order to score goals by throwing the Quaffle through one of the hoops.
Chasers may pass the Quaffle as in Basketball, or kick the Quaffle as in Soccer.
That is if the Chaser catches the Quaffle while on the right foot he/she may step to left-right-left, but must release the Quaffle before the right foot is lifted from the ground a second time.

 Quidditch: how to play the game
The Quaffle is a Harry Potter trivia question which is directed at the chasers of the team that has the Quaffle.
The Beaters on the team without the quaffle are trying to answer the quaffle correctly before the chasers on the opposite team.
If a beater answers the question correctly before the chasers, then their team is get's the quaffle, and a new quaffle question is asked to their chasers, and the beaters from the team that just lost the quaffle are trying to answer it before them, ect.

The Quaffle continues to pass until the Quaffle is won or neither Team can ante nor draw a card, at which point the Round ends.
If a Quaffle is still in play at the end of the Round, it is returned face-down to the top of the Pitch Deck so that it becomes the first card in the next Pitch.
If the target was a Quaffle, it is passed until play on it is resolved, and because the opponent is blocked, it may be won by an unanswered Player card anted by the caster.

Big Kids may run with the Quaffle only by dribbling as in basketball or by "air dribbling"--tossing the Quaffle back and forth between hands while in motion.
Defenders may physically interpose themselves as in basketball or reach in to grab the Quaffle from a dribble or air dribble.

If it is a failure, and an opponent wants to take the quaffle, they do NOT have to wait for the character to whom the quaffle was meant for, to post.
If that's what you're worried about, once you've specified who your character is throwing the quaffle to, PM them and tell them their character needs to post in the game ASAP in order for it to continue.

Since the player that has the quaffle is not allowed to move (walk or run), the advancement of the quaffle to the goal is done by passing!
