Quantum immortality - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Quantum immortality is the controversial speculation deriving from the quantum suicide thought experiment that states the Everett many-worlds interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that conscious beings are immortal.
For quantum immortality to be true, either the bomb would have to misfire (or otherwise not detonate) or an event would have to take place which made use of scientific principles that are not yet proven or discovered.
Although quantum immortality is motivated by the quantum suicide thought experiment, Max Tegmark, one of the inventors of this experiment, has stated that he does not believe that quantum immortality is a consequence of his work.

Immortality of the soul is a cardinal tenet of Islam and is held generally in Judaism, although it is not an essentially Jewish idea.
This view of immortality is vastly different than the others in that it places value not on the continuity of one's physical, spiritual, or intellectual "self", but rather on how one will be remembered by generations to come.
Another view of immortality concentrates on leaving offspring, or immortality via evolution, which is curiously similar to Richard Dawkins' theory of the selfish gene.

Damn Interesting » Quantum Mechanics and Immortality
Quantum Mechanics is a curious area of study which began in the early 20th century when scientists began to discover that the theories of electromagnetism and Newtonian mechanics, which so elegantly describe the movements of normal objects, completely fell apart at extremely tiny atomic and subatomic scales.
At quantum levels, matter exists simultaneously as particles and as waves (wave-particle duality), a particle's position and momentum cannot be precisely known at the same time (Heisenberg uncertainty principle), and the state of two objects can be intertwined, regardless of the physical distance between them (quantum entanglement).
Quantum mechanics is not in the business of exact predictions, rather it deals in probabilities when describing the position or momentum of a given particle at a certain time.

If you haaaaaave to believe that humans exist in all parallel universe, then let’s assume, that Quantum immortality only happens when humans die, and not when other things (like dust, animals, etc.) die or act different in one universe and not others.
It’s obviously much more likely that this kind of Quantum truth doesn't limit itself just to humans, but rather to all matter in the universe, which is why, more likely than not, humans only exists in this parallel universe and not in any others.
