		The Quarrymen were founded by John Lennon at the Quarry Bank School in Liverpool in the middle of 1957.
		The Quarrymen were already trying to toughen up their sound, and that wasn't the only change taking place in the band.
		The Quarrymen were reduced to a more manageable quintet of Lennon, McCartney, Harrison, Hanton, and Lowe, but the winnowing process begun by the band members and bad luck on Garry's part was difficult to halt.

		After the Quarrymen’s last gig of 2004 in Trondheim in Norway during which he experienced great pain from the supposed back trouble from which he had been suffering, Eric went into hospital for a check-up and it was discovered that the real problem was cancer of the pancreas.

	New CD
		he Quarrymen's new CD -"Songs We Remember" was launched at the Liverpool Beatles Convention on Sunday 29 August 2004 and it has now been released in the UK by Sony-BMG.
		Recorded at Liverpool's Parr Street Studios in April 2004, the new CD was a result of the Quarrymen's trip to Japan in September 2003 when they were invited to appear in Tokyo and Osaka with one of Japan's top bands, the High-Lows.
		The 12 page CD booklet boasts an introduction by Beatle Biographer (and Quarrymen Biographer) Hunter Davies, some great photos of the band in Liverpool by Kozo Fukuoka and the words to all the songs.

	Notes on the Quarrymen Sessions (QMEN.1)
		The repertoire, which includes both covers and originals, continues to feature many songs built on 12-bar blues forms, but there is some particularly interesting material to be found here which breaks this mold.
		Again, the Quarrymen opt for playing this cover in a different key than the original; Vincent plays it in E. The verse form is deceptive; sounding very much like 12-bar because of its I-IV-V-IV chord progression, but it turns out to be an 8-bar frame.
		This is another one of the major highlights of the entire Quarrymen sessions because in both form and arrangement it is the least 12-bar blues-like, and also perhaps the most Beatles-like of all.
