The Quebec general election of 1944 was held on August 8, 1944 to elect members of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Quebec, Canada.
This election marked Duplessis's comeback after having defeated Godbout in the 1936 election and having lost to him in the 1939 election.
Duplessis won another three elections in a row, for a total of five terms of office (four consecutive), before dying in office in 1959.

In 1774, the British Parliament passed the Quebec Act that helped ensure the survival of the French language and French culture in the region; since it did not hinder Catholicism in Quebec, it was deemed as one of the Intolerable Acts that spurred the American Revolution.
Until 1968, the Quebec legislature was bicameral, consisting of the Legislative Council and the Legislative Assembly.

On Sunday, Charest was to travel to Normandy to mark the 69th anniversary of the June 6, 1944 Allied invasion.
Quebec could handle it but it'd take more time than for (mainly) the Toronto area and whatever happens to be selling or is made to sell as usual by marketing, and usually not by Southern Ontario (other than in 'Canada') but in the US.
They're not totally accurate, not much free is, they don't address Quebec and don't even tell the whole story but without that background (and I hope everyone will find similar documents for their own jurisdiction but from outside sources) the economy does.
