  Queen album review
As far as debut albums go, this is indeed a strong entrance, with many of the harmonic and melodic characteristics that the band would later develop into their trademark sound already evident.
The album is less sophisticated than later releases, the vocal and guitar harmonies are less complex and the experimentation with diverse musical genres is not explored to the same degree as they would be on future records.
This album is very much a product of its era, and I can't help but feel that people only familiar with Queen's later material and singles, would be ultimately disappointed if they went back to listen to this album, as it is very different from what the band would go on to produce.

 Queen: Fyfeopedia Music Reviews
Queen's second album of 1974, after May was struck down by illness and was unable to tour, it lacks the grandiosity of key Opera tracks like ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ and ‘The Prophet’s Song’, but it’s more even than its more celebrated followup, filled with inventive rockers and enjoyable ballad fragments.
Queen haven’t lost any of their grandeur, but the effect is less unified than previous; the gap between Mercury’s ballads and May’s rock songs is far more pronounced than on its predecessor.
Although Queen managed to squeeze out some pretty strong albums, especially towards the beginning of their career, this fourteen track LP compilation of their most famous songs remains their masterpiece, placing highlights such as 'Bohemian Rhapsody', 'Another One Bites The Dust', 'We Are The Champions', and 'Fat Bottomed Girls' all in one place.

Made In Heaven' is an album so heavily freighted with emotional resonance that it is quite impossible to disentangle the music from the unique historical context in which it was made.
But then Queen have never exactly been renowned for the subtlety of their vision, and what would come across as the most ludicrous bathos in anyone else’s hands hits approximately the right note here.
An essential purchase for Queen fans, certainly, but even without its special significance, ‘Made In Heaven’ is probably a better album than Innuendo and a fitting swan song by one of the most incandescent groups in rock.

Queen is known for big overdubbed vocals and vocal harmonies, and surround mixing engineer Justin Shirley-Smith is liberal in his use of panning and vocal placements with the rear speakers.
Queen was a fun band that never took itself too seriously, which makes for a good-time listening experience for this record, assuming you aren’t already familiar with all of the tracks.
The Game is the second Queen album remixed for 5.1 by DTS Entertainment, after A Night at The Opera, which as an album isn’t as strong as The Game.

The 1975 Queen album A Night at the Opera has been re-mastered by recording engineer Steve Hoffman and is now being re-issued as a 24-karat gold compact disc.
Created as a concept album, from the liner notes listing the members of Queen as the "Cast" to ending with a multi-guitar orchestrated version of "God Save the Queen," the biggest problem with this album is the fact that it really doesn’t tell a story.
The songs that rock on the album, including the opener "Death on Two Legs (Dedicated to…)," "Good Company" and "Bohemian Rhapsody," are what I like to hear when listening to a Queen album.

Queen - News Of The World
Once you've seen Queen onstage, away from the cut and paste of the studio, it's painfully clear that "Sheer Heart Attack" is less a matter of slumming than of warfare among equals in incompetent musicianship.
The rest of side one uses the elaborate Led Zeppelin approach for which Queen is famous, but the songs go even further into punk sociology, reaching a peak with "Fight from the Inside," which seems nothing less than a Tory's sketch for a junta.
Queen's characteristic use of grandiosity rising from a basic rock lineup drives the group's latest LP through its soundtrack-like song structure.

Queen : Queen - Listen, Review and Buy at ARTISTdirect
Although it may not be up to par with such future classics as A Night at the Opera and The Game, Queen's 1973 self-titled debut is one of the most underrated hard rock debuts of all time.
Unlike other notable hard rock debuts of the '60s/'70s (Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Kiss, etc.), Queen's first album was not recorded quickly, but over the course of a year or two, since the band had to record during the studio's off hours to minimize costs.
At the time, many critics dismissed the band and the debut (unfairly classifying Queen as "disposable glam"), but in hindsight, Queen laid down the groundwork for this legendary band's future triumphs.
