The hydrozoan jellyfish Polyorchis penicillatus is widely distributed along the west coast of Vancouver Island, as well as among the Gulf Islands and the Queen Charlotte Islands (Arai & Brinckmann-Voss 1980).
One individual was also observed in Allison Harbour (51 02 38 N, 127 30 45 W), on the north side of Queen Charlotte Strait, on the 30th of July.

We are on schedule for a departure to the Queen Charlottes on Monday, June 9th.
This is our last stop on Vancouver Island before we cross Queen Charlotte Strait and begin the trip up the mainland of BC before we cross Hecate Strait to the Queen Charlotte Islands at the shortest distance off-shore (about 60 miles).
We met 2 boats, "Tracks" and "Soul Dancer", in Queen Charlotte City and 2 boats "Trementhick" and "White Wings"in Sandspit that were leaving for the south part of the islands, Gwaii Haanas, and we anchored in many of the same anchorages that they did.
