It's somewhat disturbing to consider that the drama in the first two episodes centers on whether one of the major characters is going to spray a courtroom with bullets, especially when he is supposed to represent the rule of law.
Queens Supreme serves up a number of unappetizing stereotypes that reflect but also exaggerate reality.
Whether or not Queens Supreme lasts the rest of the season, and I doubt it will make it much past the third or fourth episode, lawyer shows will not be in short supply.

 Queens Judges Appeal Misconduct Findings
QUEENS---Two justices of the Supreme Court who were recently subject to disciplinary proceedings by the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct have requested review by the Court of Appeals of the determinations made against them.
A Queens judge who placed a litigant in contempt, claiming that the litigant had tried to intimidate the court, was instead found by the judicial panel to have engaged in judicial misconduct himself.
When a litigant's attorney in Queens Supreme Court insisted on making a record of an out-of-court encounter between his client and the judge, the judge improperly cited the client for contempt and imposed a 30-day jail sentence.

Queens prosecutors said they will consider arresting Blackburne on misdemeanor charges of hindering prosecution if Sterling is convicted in the robbery case.
A rally in support of Blackburne outside the Queens Supreme Courthouse is set for June 17, according to the Queens Coalition of NAACP branches and community leader Rev. Charles Norris.
Blackburne, whose husband was a Democratic district leader in Southeast Queens, was elected to Queens Civil Court in 1995, and in 1999 was elected to the State Supreme Court.

(CBS/AP) ALBANY A Queens County Supreme Court judge charged with helping a suspect evade arrest in 2004 was thrown from office by the state's highest court.
The State Commission on Judicial Conduct last year voted to remove Justice Laura Blackburne from the bench after she directed a court officer to a robbery suspect out a rear door and to an elevator reserved for judges while a detective waited for him in the hall.
Blackburne has said the detective did not have a warrant and tried to trap the suspect at her Queens courtroom by using a "ruse" that he just wanted to question him.

All I can say after viewing two episodes (the third and final episode aired was pre-empted here by local Denver news coverage of a two-plane mid-air collision) is that I think it had some potential.
Judge Jack Moran (Oliver Platt) is a talented judge at the Queens County Courthouse in New York City whose honor and intelligence are often obscured by his non-conformist and sporadically strange courtroom conduct.
Judge Kim Vicidomini (Annabella Sciorra), a recently appointed judge assigned to finish another judge’s term, is suspected to have been put there because she is a Republican and a woman, but quickly proves that her political connections and legal level-headedness are assets both in and out of the courtroom.
