If you ask me, South Street is the main problem which is serving as a barrier preventing further residential development in South Philly (kind of ironic since a few decades ago when Queen Village was a dump South Street was seen as a launchpad for revitalization).
I've been intrigued by the idea of a passyunk subway running from girard estates up passyunk to queen's village and then running up second or third street (crossing south.) and connecting with the El at second street.

It's odd, because tiny Jersey City, with a quarter the population, has twice as many restaurants.
But other than Elvie's Turo-Turo in Manhattan's East Village, a few places in Woodside and the excellent Philippine Fiesta Village in Richmond Hill, I hadn't found much in the way of restaurants.
For that reason, it's easy to anoint Salvesam, in Queens Village, as the city's best Philippine restaurant.
