 Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music
Musical director and lecturer with the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) Kim Kirkman, directed the 50 piece orchestra in this wonderful classical event, and according to Kim it was an exceptionally good concert.
Lucy, who studied music and music theatre at the CQCM, has been performing with ‘100% Kylie’ for the past 3 years in a Kylie Minogue tribute show that is in huge demand across the country and internationally – largely due to Lucy’s uncanny resemblance to the real Kylie.
Carla completed her Bachelor of Music Theatre in 1998 from the Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music, and said her time at the CQCM has helped her to achieve what she has so far achieved in her career.

The Queensland Art Gallery (formerly Queensland National Art Gallery, and home to the Asia Pacific Triennial), which was established in 1895, is located next to the Queensland Museum.
The Queensland Gallery of Modern Art is being built near the William Jolly Bridge, and is due to be opened in late 2006.
The Queensland College of Art (a part of Griffith University), is based on the Expo site at South Bank, and the QUT Art Museum (a part of the Queensland University of Technology) is based at the QUT Gardens Point campus.

The development of the Contemporary Music program within the Bachelor of Arts at Southern Cross University began late in 1984 when Clive Pascoe was appointed as Dean of the School of Arts at the (then) Northern Rivers College of Advanced Education.
The students involved in this course also studied music performance and music composition as part of their course, but the instruction they received in these areas was more contemporary classical or jazz-based than popular music styles-based.
In 1991 the Australian Contemporary Music Institute receive a grant from the Education and Training Foundation to develop contemporary music courses for TAFE NSW which strongly articulated with the BA contemporary music degree at Southern Cross University.

The aural component’s objective is to: develop musical memory and aural awareness; broaden stylistic knowledge and appreciation; introduce and reinforce fundamental aural skills that form the building-blocks of most of the music we hear; and to generally reestablish the ear as the primary element in the creation and reception of music.
With the advent of 12-tone music came a method of harmonic and melodic organization that is well-suited to musicians whom also want to explore different sounds through improvisation - especially improvisation that goes beyond harmonic limitations of traditional languages such as jazz.
The aim of this subject is to provide opportunities for the student to apply theories of improvisation and technical aspects of their instrument, in order to improve ensemble playing, improvisation and performance practice.

The attempt to create maximum impact with a minimum of symbolic information was also hampered by the performers themselves, some of whom failed to express the quietly restrained power of the Noh tradition, their loose movements and blank expressions merely giving the impression of lifelessness.
Musically there were some fine and well-directed moments, particularly the admirably accurate synchronisation of Britten's cacophonic ensemble episodes.

Previously Professor of Music and Head of Department at the Tasmanian Conservatorium of Music, University of Tasmania he is active as a soloist, ensemble performer, conductor and master teacher throughout Australia, North America, Europe and Asia.
