		It may be recalled that a Canon of the cathedral Chapter Fr Assuncao had challenged the lease deed executed by Fr Benjamin Fernandes in respect of the Palacio de Deao in favour of one Ruben Vasco de Gama.
		In his report submitted to the court, the mediator had stated that mediation was not possible as both parties maintained their stand in the suit and none prepared to make the smallest concession despite every effort to persuade the parties to arrive at an amicable settlement.
