		The Friends of Queslett Nature Reserve was established after local Oscott Ward Councillors Keith Linnecor, John Cotton and Barbara Dring arranged the meeting to discuss plans for improving the security of the site and making it more welcoming for residents and visitors.
		Queslett Nature Reserve, located on land between Booths Lane and the ASDA Queslett store, is a haven for many different types of wildlife.
		The team said that the decision was a 'slap in the face' for local residents, who have successfully stopped similar planning applications in the past.

		A decision to refuse planning permission for a mobile phone mast just weeks after approval was granted for a similar structure nearby has baffled Oscott councillors.
		Government planning inspectors upheld a decision to refuse permission for the mast on Queslett Road two weeks after Birmingham's planning committee gave the go-ahead for a similar application on the opposite side of the road.
		Councillor Cotton said:"It simply beggars belief that one side of the Queslett Road can be ruled as wholly unsuitable for a mast by a Government-appointed inspector, while Birmingham's planners seem content to allow a mast to be put up on the opposite side of the road, just a matter of yards away.

		Plans to change the junction of Booths Lane and Queslett Road were discussed at a meeting of the Oscott Ward Committee on Wednesday evening.
		The scheme has caused consternation amongst residents of the Queslett Road and Booths Lane area, who fear that the current plans will lead to traffic chaos and further isolate the area, which can only be accessed via Queslett Road or the unadopted section of Booths Lane.
		Following last night's meeting, Highways officials have agreed to negotiate with Bovis and neighbouring councils over a package of measures, including keeping the slip road as it is in order to protect the privacy of residents and allowing a left turn into Booths Lane, adjacent to Beasley Grove.

		Having done this, there was still 40 minutes between then and Asda opening, so I decided it was worth the twenty minute drive to Queslett after all, but then, horror of horrors, I had to get petrol for the second time in two days.
		I put ten pounds worth in on Friday and by Saturday morning the petrol light was on, so I put in another tenners worth, thinking this car is drinking the stuff, then I worked out that you only get 11 litres for a tenner which isn't even two and a half gallons.
		Asda Queslett was full of oiks, so I dashed round there forgetting important things like washing up liquid.
