Queue - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
One characteristic of a queue is that it does not have a specific capacity.
A practical implementation of a queue usually does have some capacity limit, that depends on the concrete situation it is used in.
For a waiting queue of people, eventually there might not be enough space to squeeze into, or people might decide that the queue is already too long and not bother adding themselves to it.

Queue area - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Queue areas are areas in which people queue (first-come, first-served), that is they wait in line for something.
This leads to the development of formalized queue areasareas in which the lines of people waiting to board the rides are organized by railings, and may be given shelter from the elements with a roof over their heads.
Some of the longest queues can be found at the terminals for cruise ships, where elaborate security precautions are necessary in order to prevent hijackings, stowaways, and terrorist attacks.

Once you learn to associate the buttons in area 11 with the highlighted work area, it will be easy to associate the functions in area 11 with both adding new prints, and changing the appearance of existing prints.
Practice changing the highlighted work area from the thumbnail area to the preview page and vice versa by clicking in the thumbnail area, then clicking on the preview page, taking note of how the current work area is highlighted.

> >For each iteration, I only draw onto the pixmap a mini rectangle, >the area of which is much much less than the area of the whole >pixmap itself.
regarding queue_draw_area, i think it doesn't really matter if you queue the redraw for later or do it right after the pixmap has been drawn to; drawing immediately has the advantage of reducing complexity in your program but that may be a matter of personal preference.
with queue_draw_area however, iirc the behaviour is that queued areas may be processed together as one bigger expose; but this doesn't seem to be what you want - the wiggling around in the maze wouldn't look so wiggly :).tim
