The Quickie is a single-place, single-engined aircraft fitted with a canard approximately equal in area to the main wing.   The layout almost qualifies the aircraft as a biplane with tremendous negative stagger between the upper and lower wings.
The Q-2 was designed around a 64 horsepower engine and called the Q-2.  A few years later, after complaints of bug and rain fouling of the Q-2’s GU canard, the Q-200 was introduced.  It was equipped with a modified canard with a new LS1 airfoil and powered by an 85 horsepower engine.
Take-off was made on a jettisonable dolly, and a ventral skid served for landing.  The NTSB concluded that the aircraft suffered a fuselage failure that rendered the elevator ineffective.
