Quill was also hired by festival promoters to play a series of concerts at nearby state prisons, mental institutions, and halfway houses as a community service aimed at countering community concerns about the upcoming festival.
Quill released an album on Cotillion records shortly after the festival, made a second album which was never released, and disbanded some 6 months after the festival.
According to himself, Greg Quill ist not connected in any way to this band and was playing folk songs in Sydnex around that time.

It is similar to the zig-zag technique except for the fact that the quills on the top row are folded away from you rather than toward you.
Remember to be sure that your quill is very flat and has no wrinkles in it, as these are difficult to remove later.
Bend the quill up towards the top line as you would in the zig-zag technique, but instead of just taking a straight stitch across the quill as before, this time loop the thread around the quill as shown.

Quill working is a technique practiced for centuries in many parts of North America, quillwork was the primary form of decoration before glass trade beads became popular with the appearance of the Fur Trappers.

Quill was the brainchild of Peter Wright, manager/producer of mellow Chi-town act the New Colony Six.
Among the gems on "The Quill Records Story" are two lush Beach Boys-inflected tracks by the Exceptions, a Chicago unit that included a pre-Chicago Peter Cetera; snarling garage punk by the Exterminators, the Delights, and the Riddles; and lots of derivative but entertaining folk-rock, pop, and power punk.
Before he helped found the band Chicago, he sang and played bass in the Exceptions, a band that graces the cover of this collection of 25 songs by 15 Midwestern bands that, from 1965 to 1967, released singles on the long-defunct Quill label in Chicago.

While Quill #12 states that "Stamps will be awarded for the duration of this millenium," the front of the Frumiles card clearly states 98/99 and members of the band and crew have said that the Frumiles Card ends its run at the end of 1999.

The Quill came out of the ashes of the band Quil and was formed by Magnus Ekwall, Christian Carlsson, George Atlagic, Anders Haglund and original bassist Peter Holm in the beginning of the 90´s and played the Swedish barcircuit the following years.
Peter Holm left the band at the end of 1993 and saw Roger Nilsson stepping in to fill his shoes.
During all this the band also managed to visit Berno Studios two times and record their versions of Where Eagles Dare by Iron Maiden, Frozen over by Captain Beyond and last Mount Everest by November.

The Quill is a band that is coming from Sweden and unlike all the predictions they are playing a mix of Classic Heavy Metal, old Hard Rock, Stoner Rock and, of course influences from Black Sabbath and Monster Magnet amongst others.
The songs are very good, and the band has worked their arrangements very much, so you can expect songs that are influenced by Sabbath but also have enough personal elements as well.
There are enough ideas in the songs, and the band is not afraid to flirt with Hard Rock or even blues sometimes, with the help of their excellent singer.

 Heavy Metal Resource Reviews-Steel Prophet and The Quill
The band is writing at the top of their game and having Joe Floyd involved is a great additive to this release.
To try to compare the band to similar artists you would definitely hear comparisons to Monster Magnet or Kyuss although I think the Quill are much better from a consistency standpoint and vocally.
The bright spot with this band is that they are not just loud and in your face, but there is an amazing mix of melody mixed in that makes the music catchy withut losing the necessary attitude.

In may 1997 Anders Haglund decided to leave the band, the others feeling no need of a new organ player decided to continue as a four piece band.
In August 1997 the band entered Berno Studio in Malmö again and started working on the second album.
During all this the band also managed to visit Berno Studios two times and record their versions of "Where Eagles Dare" by Iron Maiden, "Frozen Over" by Captain Beyond and lastly "Mount Everest" by November.
