Morris doesn’t always speak slang – that is to say he never does so to strangers or before them, for he is really well educated and has excellent manners – but he found out that it amused me to hear him talk American slang.
This is fairly compelling evidence, it is true, but there is also no overt indication by Stoker that Morris must be a vampire, and thus the effort to close the case on whether or not Morris is a vampire is thwarted by Stoker’s deliberate ambiguity.
So while Morris could represent the same physical danger to the Europeans, his threat is defanged (so to speak) by the fact that it clearly poses none of the ideological challenges that Dracula does.
