EPA - Air Toxics Website - Quinone (p-Benzoquinone)
Acute (short-term) exposure to high levels of quinone, via inhalation in humans, results in irritation of the eyes, consisting of discoloration of the conjunctiva and cornea, and causes dermatitis from dermal exposure.
Quinone is used as a chemical intermediate, a polymerization inhibitor, an oxidizing agent, a photographic chemical, a tanning agent, and a chemical reagent.
Acute exposure to high levels of quinone, via inhalation in humans, is highly irritating to the eyes, resulting in discoloration of the conjunctiva and cornea, while dermal exposure causes dermatitis with skin discoloration and erythema.

 Dopamine and quinone
The catechol of the carcinogenic synthetic estrogen hexestrol, a hydrogenated derivative of diethylstilbestrol, is metabolized to its quinone, which reacts with DNA to form depurinating adducts at the N-7 of guanine and N-3 of adenine.
Instead, it seems to involve formation of quinone product(s) because (i) the cell death is attenuated by exposure to or induction of quinone reductase and (ii) BH4-treated cells show increased formation of protein-bound quinones, which is inhibited by thiol antioxidants.

Development of light-sensitive quinone diazide compositions - Patent 4141733
The process as claimed in claim 1 wherein said quinone diazide composition comprises a non-light-sensitive film-forming polymeric binder and a polymeric compound formed from the condensation reaction of a quinone diazide with a phenol-formaldehyde resin.
The light-sensitive quinone diazide compositions disclosed herein can further comprise a non-light-sensitive film-forming polymer wherein the weight ratio of light-sensitive polymer to non-light sensitive polymer is in the range of about 1:1 to about 99:1.
As the amount of quinone diazide used in a photosensitive composition is increased the described amount of non-light-sensitive polymer increases.

On April 24, 2003 a research team led by Takafumi Kato of the Japanese Institute of Physical and Chemical Research confirmed that pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ), a substance originally discovered in 1979, can be categorised as a vitamin in mice.
The further apart from mammals a species is, the more diverse the organisms' requirements become.
Pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) was reported as a vitamin for mice in 2003.

New hydrogen bond assisted synthesis of calixarene quinone-hydrazones   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-09-19)
Quinone hydrazones represent a class of important chemical systems that are postulated as intermediates in various reactions.
In the present case, when ortho carboxyl group was esterified, the resultant compound was again observed to exhibit a hypsochromic shift on addition of a base.
These results suggest that both the ortho ester and the carboxyl groups can stabilize the quinone- hydrazone form in azo calixarenes but the same groups stabilize the azo hydroxy form in their open chain analogs.
