  RAF Greenham Common
RAF Greenham Common is a former World War II and NATO Cold War airfield located 45 miles west of London, and 2 miles southeast of Newbury, in Berkshire England.
On 23 April 1951, RAF Greenham Common was made available to the United States Air Force by the British Ministry of Defence as a Strategic Air Command base, with joint operations with the Royal Air Force units.
It is interesting to note that whilst the protesters were cutting fences at Greenham, RAF Welford (which is not far from Greenham) was being used to store equipment and allegedly also some of the missiles, as it had the ability to fly it in and out as well as possibly using road or rail links.
