I hear that space is tight currently at Leconfield and the RAF have alot of hanger space which other services need, hence a move to Driffield has possibly been mentioned. The pending move of the police helicopter to Humberside may be a clue, can we expect the rescue helicopters at Driffield?, I do hope so.
Leconfield is too crowded and seeing renewed military use of RAF Driffield can only be a good thing, its just a shame they sold off all the married quarters, making it very difficult to move in a full sized unit again.
I seriously doubt plans to move leconfield to driffield although the chances of the army turning the airfield into a training ex area are high and the camp becoming barracks also high.
