The Panavia Tornado is a jet engine fighter-bomber jointly developed as the Multi-role combat aircraft - or MRCA - by Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom.
Known as the F3 in RAF service, this aircraft have recently been modified to be able to fire the ALARM anti-radiation missile, and thus be able to take on the mission of Suppression of Enemy Air Defences or SEAD.
Some original RAF F3s were loaned to the Italian Air Force as an interim replacement for the F-104 Starfighter, until the Eurofighter Typhoon enters service.

Tornado GR1 is the ground attack or bomber version of the Tornado.
The idea behind Tornado first came to light in the mid 1960's when NATO came up with the idea of providing an aircraft capable of carrying precision attacks flying at low altitude to avoid being detected by enemy radar and shot down by anti-aircraft systems.
RAF GR1A/GR4A's have a built in low level infra red system but all suitably modified aircraft can carry podded camera systems to cater for a variety of tactical circumstances.

 1/72 Hasegawa Tornado GR.4 by Shaun Bowman-Davies
The Tornado GR1A saw action in the 1991 Gulf war, and was use to hunt Scud missiles with its Infra-red reconance system.
The main external difference to the aircraft after the update, is the addition of a forward looking infra-red fairing under the port fuselage near the front undercarriage bay and the deletion of one of the internal cannon.
The Hasegawa Tornado kit has a wrongly shaped nose cone and the PP Aeropart set provided a new one, so I cut of the kit one and fitted a new nose.
