RC circuit - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A resistor-capacitor circuit (RC circuit), or RC filter or RC network, is one of the simplest analogue electronic filters.
These may be combined in four important combinations: the RC circuit, the RL circuit, the LC circuit and the RLC circuit with the abbreviations indicating which components are used.
This article considers the RC circuit, in both series and parallel as shown in the diagrams.

VISI | UNIX man pages: rc (8)
Rc is the command script which controls the automatic reboot (calling the other scripts) and rc.local is the script holding commands which are per- tinent only to a specific site.
The first portion of rc runs an fsck(8) with option -p to ``preen'' all the disks of minor inconsistencies resulting from the last system shutdown and to check for serious inconsistencies caused by hard- ware or software failure.
The second part of rc, which is run after an auto-reboot succeeds and also if rc is invoked when a single user shell terminates (see init(8)), starts all the daemons on the system, preserves editor files and clears the scratch directory /tmp.

 RC Network Line Noise Snubbers
RC Network is an electronic component designed to prevent or substantially minimize the occurrence of arcing and line noise generation in relay and switch contacts.
RC Networks consist of specially designed capacitors and resistors connected in series.
RC Networks must have the capacity to store surge voltages and current energy and afford protection against inductively induced potentials.

RC networks enjoy some advantage over LC networks, namely they do not pickup inductive hum and they are frequently less expensive and more compact in size.
RC and direct coupling allows the designer to shape the stage frequency response using resistor and capacitors in numerous different network configurations.
It is important to note that the formulas given for interstage RC filter data are simplistic and do not account for other factors such as parasitic, Miller effect and wiring capacitance and the frequency to gain dependence of the active device.

 OSCILLATORS
RC networks, LC tanks, and crystals may appear in sine-wave oscillator circuits.
Therefore, the RC network is the frequency-determining device since the lengths of the vectors and their phase relationships depend on frequency.
For an RC phase-shift oscillator, the amplifier is biased for class A operation to minimize distortion of the wave or signal.

diyAudio Forums - Zobels and output impedance
Zobel networks are used in audio amplifiers to dampen out high frequency oscillations that might occur in the absence of loads at high frequencies.
This second RC network is not always included but is required (and needs to be optimised) according to 'Douglas Self'.
RC networks across each of the drivers in the loudspeakers will further help to provide a zero phase angle (resistive) load to the amplifier, and much contribute to clean, correctly dynamic and extended system sound.

 Colpitts oscillator
The major difference between the LC and RC oscillator is that the frequency-determining device in the RC oscillator is not a tank circuit.
Since the impedance of an RC network is capacitive, the current flowing through it leads the applied voltage by a specific phase angle.
This is because additional RC sections reduce the phase shift necessary for each section, and the loss for each section is lowered as the phase shift is reduced.

However, the loopback interface is useful not only as an example in networking books, or as a test bed during development, but is actually used by some applications during normal operation.[5] Therefore, you always have to configure it, regardless of whether your machine is attached to a network or not.

Choose the network -3dB frequency to coincide with that of the regulator PSRR characteristic.
The problem with using this type of filter is the lack of inherent damping at the output of the network (input of the regulator).
An external network added to the input of a linear regulator improves the inherent PSRR of the LDO, especially at high frequencies, where the low quiescent current compromises the high-frequency PSRR of the LDO.

For economic reasons passive RIAA deemphasis networks are rarely in the form of a RLC quadripole (the only way to obtain the maximum accuracy) but appear in the lighter (and less accurate) aspect of a RC nertwork.

The drawback of user-mode networking is that is is based on the SLIRP protocol which does not allow for UDP connections, plus it’s outbound only, meaning that no one on your network, not even the Host Operating System, will be able to connect to the Guest OS.
