After 1945, the RFA assumed centre stage in supporting the operations of the Royal Navy in the many conflicts that the Navy was involved in.
Sea Crusader is not due to remain in the fleet for very much longer, since it is being replaced by newly built vessels operated under a Private Finance Initiative[?].

Instead a new name, Sea Centurion, was chosen and she was delivered to the Royal Fleet Auxiliary on an 18 month charter, with an option to extend.
Sea Centurion is easily identified by her blue hull, white superstructure and grey funnels.

The logistic transport capability of the RFA is now augmented by two new-build roll-on roll-off ferries of commercial design, tasked with providing the heavy-lift capability for the Joint Rapid Deployment Force.
RFA's SEA CRUSADER and SEA CENTURION, large ships of 21,000 tonnes but with a crew numbering just 17, have the capacity to move large amounts of heavy equipment at high speed to any parts of the world.

The aircraft carrier HMS INVINCIBLE was on passage through the Mediterranean on her return from operational duty in the Gulf when the decision was taken on 9 April to divert her to operations in the Balkans.
Her Sea Harrier F-A2s conducted 102 Combat Air Patrol missions as part of Operation ALLIED FORCE, and it was therefore possible for multi-roled aircraft which would otherwise have been given these missions to be switched to other tasks.
RFA ARGUS was deployed to the region in May 1999, providing a platform for helicopter operations, with the capability to act, if required, as a casualty reception facility.

Ten of the civilian-manned RFAs are in the UK Maritime Task Group and directly involved in Exercise Saif Sareea, one of the highlights of the Exercise Argonaut 2001 maritime deployment.
The Support Tanker RFA Bayleaf is permanently stationed in the Gulf area as Arabian Gulf Ready Tanker, and she too is participating in Saif Sareea.
Her sister ship RFA Sir Galahad was extensively damaged in the same action, and was eventually sunk off the islands where she remains as a war grave.

Extensive sea trials were planned with the vessel scheduled to join the RFA Fleet in early 2002.
Ten of the twenty four ships in the UK Maritime Task Group are RFA vessels, with the two RFA strategic heavy lift ships Sea Centurion and Sea Crusader were also engaged in essential support operations-carrying tanks, vehicles and tons of Army equipment from the UK and Germany.

The Royal Fleet Auxiliary ship Sea Centurion left the German port of Emden, loaded with elements of a force of 400 Challenger tanks, Warrior armoured vehicles and AS 90 self-propelled gun batteries, the Ministry of Defence said.
Another transport ship, RFA Sea Crusader, is due to begin loading more of the tanks and guns at Emden before setting sail.

I know that HMS ocean was launched but back in the '82 there were HMS fearless and Intrepid as well as all those RFA ships (Sirs Galahad, Percival, Geraint, Lancelot, Tristam and fort Austin).
Also with so many Sea Wolfs, which have shot down 4.5 inch naval shells in tests, in the fleet you would need a BIG salvo to win.
