The damage to Sir Galahad was so extensive that she was scuttled in the South Atlantic, while the hulk of Sir Tristram was refloated and towed to Stanley.
Completed in 1973 Sir Caradoc displaced 3,350 tons, measured 406ft in length, 54ft in breadth and 16.4ft in draught, while Sir Lamorak displaced 2,570 tons.
However both Sir Caradoc and Sir Lamorak were found unsuitable for the South Atlantic and mainly operated on Army freight runs between Marchwood and Antwerp, although Sir Lamoark participated in Exercise Rough Diamond '83.

Built as the Norwegian GREY MASTER (73/3350), she was chartered by MoD and renamed RFA SIR CARADOC (L3522) during 1983 to fill the gap left by the lost and damaged ships during the Falklands war.
Thanks,Bob.There was also another one SIR LAMORAK (?)which was the old LAKESPAN ONTARIO (?)which was converted in Glasgow.
Thats right, SIR LAMORAK (L3532) was the Canadian LAKESPAN ONTARIO (73/2570).

In the Churchyard is a bust and plaque commemorating Admiral Sir William Tennant, who was born of an Upton family.
