RFA TIDEFLOW fuelling HMS SHEFFIELD to port and HMS BERMUDA astern in the Med.
At about 2100 on the 29th of April we left Aranci Bay, Sardinia at speed to return to Malta where, before we arrived in mid afternoon on the next day, the Governor and C in C of Malta had issued a Proclamation declaring a State of Emergency.

The RFA really came into its own in WWII when the British fleet was often far from available bases, either due to the enemy capturing available bases, or, in the Pacific, the sheer distances involved.
After 1945, the RFA assumed centre stage in supporting the operations of the Royal Navy in the many conflicts that the Navy was involved in.
The RFA performed important service to the Far East Fleet off Korea from 1950 until 1953, when sustained carrier operations were again mounted in Pacific waters.

Typhoon is designed to be interoperable with all the participating countries' air forces and each country will have both common and non-common weaponry requirements to meet their individual needs.
Typhoon aircraft are planned progressively to incorporate ground attack capabilities and early aircraft are planned to be upgraded through a retro-fit programme.
The Atlantic Patrol Task (South) (APT(S)) tanker, RFA Gold Rover, is scheduled to deploy to the South Atlantic in early May 2003 while the APT(S) duty ship, HMS Lancaster, is scheduled to deploy in early July 2003.

There might be an issue with, e.g., the 1997 Pacific typhoon season since IIRC it had 4 typhoons of insanely high, approximately equal strength.
I'm trying to make sure that I take the time to thank everyone who voted in my RfA, and verify that they don't have any concerns over my experience, neutrality, etc. If you have a problem, please drop a line on my talk page and I will answer it as best as I can.
I know about Hurricane Alice and Alice2, but what I'm talking about is something like a Hurricane Ivan occurring in the same year as a Typhoon Ivan.

The Regulatory Flexibility Act, RFA, was enacted in 1980 and requires Federal Government agencies to propose rules that keep the regulatory burden at a minimum on small businesses.
The RFA requires agencies to analyze the economic impact of proposed regulations when there is likely to be a significant economic impact on a substantial number of small entities.
It means a Federal agency can avoid the various analyses required under the RFA by either requiring the States to regulate small entities or regulating an industry so rigorously that it has a negative trickle down impact on other industries.

RAF air defence bases RAF Coningsby, is a Royal Air Force station in Lincolnshire.
For many years forming part of the UK air defence system, the station currently houses no operational aircraft, but is awaiting the introduction into service of the Typhoon F2.
Coningsby was the first airfield to receive the Tornado ADV and will be the first to receive its replacement, the Eurofighter Typhoon.

The Voice of America reports that they were on the air at half power for a while at their large station on Tinian to reduce the possibility of arcing in the antenna systems during the heavy downpour of rain.
The Super Typhoon with the Korean name Pongsona also wreaked severe damage at the TWR shortwave station, completely destroying three of their curtain antennas and severely damaging the other two.
Among the immediate results of the super strong typhoon winds was that the south roadway was covered with debris and impassable, there was no water at the transmitter site, and no electricity.

Subic is a large American Naval Base on the west coast of the Philippine island of Luzon.

Its Xia SSBN gives China a sea based leg for its nuclear forces, and this vessel will be joined by the new SSBN Type 094 class early in the next century.
Additionally, rumours circulated in the Hong Kong press that Russia agreed to sell China 2 Typhoon Class SSBNs and their accompanying 8,000 kilometre ranged SS-N-20 SLBMs during the recent Central Asian Summit.
The navy is also operating 5 Han SSN and is planning a new SSN Type 093 class, which will enable the PLA to project force far away from its shores.
