The MPAA and RIAA will work alongside various groups within the Internet2 consortium to study emerging high-performance network trends, and to learn how to benefit from these trends in the future.
The RIAA confirmed that it has joined Internet2's community as a corporate member and said it is currently taking a closer look at the different working and interest groups within the consortium to find the best points for collaboration, according to Engebretsen.
The MPAA and RIAA will use Internet2's national IP network infrastructure as a virtual testing site for the development of future networking and highly secure distribution capabilities.
