RSA Factoring Challenge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The RSA Factoring Challenge is a challenge put forward by RSA Laboratories on March 18, 1991 to encourage research into computational number theory and the practical difficulty of factoring large integers.
As RSA Laboratories is a provider of RSA-based products, the challenge is used by them as an incentive for the academic community to attack the core of their solutions — in order to prove its strength.
The first RSA numbers generated, from RSA-100 to RSA-500, were labeled according to their number of decimal digits; later, however, beginning with RSA-576, binary digits are counted instead.

 [No title]
There is one RSA number of length 100, one of length 110, and so on, up to one of length 500.
The RSA challenge numbers are thus tagged RSA-100, RSA-110, RSA-120,..., RSA-500.
It is expected that the RSA challenge numbers will be at least as hard, if not harder, to factor than the partition numbers of the same length.

RSA-290 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In mathematics, RSA-290 is one of the RSA numbers, large semiprimes that are part of the RSA Factoring Challenge.
RSA-290 has a length of 290 decimal digits and has not been factored so far.

 CSC290 Crypto RSA
Traditionally, a class assignment for RSA encryption involves lots of messing around with converting blocks of ASCII text to binary numbers of a certain size, encoding the blocks, and then to decode there is the reverse exercise of turning numbers to ASCII again.
Now our code groups are integers less than 3300, so there is no reason to get involved with multiple-precision arithmetic (this takes a bit of the fun out of the exercise, but you can just use LIP or Java function calls or some other package (see below) if you want to generalize your code.
Of course there is a ton of PK and RSA code out there.

 CS 290: Cryptology: RSA-AES Hybrid
You are going to write a hybrid system that generates a random session key, uses RSA public-key encryption to send the encrypted session key to another user (Bob, of course), and then uses AES to encrypt a message using the key.
Thus for the RSA portion, the maximum message length needed is 24 bytes.
Implement and test all the number-theoretic utilities you need for RSA encryption, and implement and test RSA en- and de-cryption (for 192-bit and shorter messages).

data dependence with md5/64-bit RSA?   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
My understanding is that RSA encryption requires the input data to match the key length, and this condition is satisfied in this use case.
I understand what I am doing is not going to create something that is cryptographically secure, but that is not a requirement for my application.
When it doesn't work, the error message "data too large for modulus" doesn't make sense to me because the the command sequence is failing on an input string that is actually *smaller* than other input strings that are sucessfully signed.

RSA number   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-20)
The RSA numbers, listed by security company RSASecurity, are certain large semiprime numbers (i.e., numbers with exactly two prime factors); they form the basis of the RSA Factoring Challenge, in which factorisations for these numbers are sought.
Cash prizes have been offered forsuccessful factorisations of RSA-576 to RSA-2048.
An exception to this is RSA-617, which was created prior to thechange in the numbering scheme.

 An Industry at Risk
Thus the "RSA algorithm" is not patentable, but "use of the RSA algorithm to encrypt data" is patentable.
If it turned out that you suddenly decided you could use the RSA algorithm to produce a stream of random numbers you would not be infringing the RSA patent.
For all practical purposes, such patents can be considered patents on algorithms.
