RSA Security - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Its headquarters are in Bedford, Massachusetts, and it maintains offices in Ireland, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and Japan.
The company currently known as RSA Security was formerly known as Security Dynamics, who acquired RSA Data Security in July 1996 and DynaSoft AB in 1997.
RSA stands for the founders' last names: Ron Rivest, Adi Shamir and Len Adleman; who are also co-inventors of the RSA public key cryptography algorithm.

 RFC 1321 (rfc1321) - The MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-22)
The MD5 algorithm is intended for digital signature applications, where a large file must be "compressed" in a secure manner before being encrypted with a private (secret) key under a public-key cryptosystem such as RSA.
It is, however, a relatively new algorithm and further security analysis is of course justified, as is the case with any new proposal of this sort.
License to copy and use this software is granted provided that it is identified as the "RSA Data Security, Inc. MD5 Message-Digest Algorithm" in all material mentioning or referencing this software or this function.

 RSA Paper 1997
At the most basic level Argent is concerned with embedding arbitrary informational messages, considered abstractly as signals, into existing carrier signals in a manner that is secure from unauthorized reading and as robust as possible in handling changes introduced to the carrier signal after Argent encoding.
Argent deals with basic read-out or access security by using pseudorandom locating methods to determine where in the carrier signal a message is embedded.
Note that while a secure and practical Argent implementation would surely not be this simple, the principles of the example hold.

RSA Data Security blasts government encryption policy
RSA agreed to adopt CDSA and KeyWorks as part of a broad-based security alliance with Security Dynamics, Inc., RSA's owner, under which IBM will resell the Security Dynamics ACE/Server authentication products.
Ironically, RSA also now is betting on the Digital Signature Standard and the Secure Hash Algorithm, technologies it fought the government bitterly against four year ago before DSS and SHA-1 became government standards.
At the RSA conference, one after another crypto experts said government key recovery is unworkable on a large scale and in any event, will add costs to the end user who must pay for new software complexity and key-recovery center costs.

It computes the 128-bit RSA Data Security, Inc. MD5 message digest of a byte stream.

This technique offers reasonable security in most cases because it is virtually impossible to recover the message from the digest, unless it is very short or almost all of it is already known.
