		The RTS is a composite market for corporate stocks and bonds, combining the traditional OTC market and the Guaranteed Trading System (a system where only the trades that have been fully secured by money and stock deposits in their special accounts are executed).
		Every RTS member may choose the most adequate among a variety of settlement arrangements, including those based on the “delivery versus payment”system, the principles of prior and post-depositing of assets, the widest opportunities offered by Internet, and modern means of electronic documents interchange.
		The RTS Index, an official indicator for the Exchange, was launched in September 1995 and instantly became the basic stock market indicator for Russia.

	RTS Index falls below 1500 on foreign pressure
		The RTS index fell 3.41% to 1,490.64 - after dropping to 1,477.55 in the morning - and the MICEX was down 2.63% to 1,308.48.
		The RTS tried to hit 1,500 on Thursday, which is relatively strong technical support, although testing it opens new horizons for a drop, said Yury Sedykh of the Russian Development Bank.
		RTS classic market trading was $78.359 million, of which $49.37 million was for Gazprom, and trading volume on the MICEX stock section was 61.251 billion rubles, of which 28.27.22 billion rubles was for Gazprom.

		The Russian stock market hit a new record high when the RTS crossed the 1800-point mark for the first time to reach 1824.6.

		June 8 (Interfax) - Russia's stock market climbed to over 585 points on the RTS index Tuesday as most blue chips saw gains amid growth on international stock markets and for Russian ADR in the west.
		As of 2:00 p.m., Moscow time, on the RTS, blue chips were up 0.5% to 3.8% and the RTS stock index had increased 1.61% to 585.54 points, its level at the end of May.
		Trading volume was at $10.923 million on the RTS (including $3.649 million in direct deals), and 8.56 billion rubles on the MICEX.
