The comments referring only to the first verses of the lesson characterize Debarim Rabbah as a Midrash of homilies in which even the proems are rather independent homilies than introductions to the comment on the Scriptural section; and the exordiums show, further, that Debarim Rabbah is very similar to the Tanḥuma Midrashim.
Rabbah that this Midrash was derived in large part from the Yelamdenu; as did
In view of the form of the homilies and the composition of the whole work, which lend to Debarim Rabbah the appearance of a Tanḥuma Midrash, it is not strange that passages from this Midrash are quoted, in some citations of earlier authors (in the thirteenth century and later), as belonging to Tanḥuma.

8, at the beginning of a proem in Wayiḳra Rabbah xxii., a modification of the passage in the latter is made which gives ample proof that the Midrash Ḳohelet was written at a later time than the other midrashic works mentioned.

Rabbah (International Standard Bible Encyclopedia) :: Bible Tools
In the utterances of the prophets against Ammon, Rabbah stands for the people, as their most important, or perhaps their only important, city (Jeremiah 49:2-3; Ezekiel 21:20; Ezekiel 25:5; Amos 1:14).
Rabbah is represented by the modern 'Amman, a ruined site with extensive remains, chiefly from Roman times, some 14 miles Northeast of Heshbon, and about 22 miles East of the Jordan.
Ancient Rabbah may have stood on the hill now occupied by the citadel, a position easy of defense because of its precipitous sides.

 Hoshana Rabbah
Hoshana Rabbah is both a somber day of reflection as well as a day of joy and celebration.
Since Hoshana Rabbah marks the time when the LORD decrees the Book of Life (and Death), a custom is to greet your friends with the phrase, “piska tava”, meaning (in Aramaic) “a good note” (referring to the final inscription and sealing in the book of Life).
On Hoshana Rabbah, however, instead of one Hoshana, seven Hoshanot are recited and seven hakkafot are made around the sanctuary.

 Bamidbar - Hananel Mack
As far as we know, the name Numbers Rabbah is not mentioned in written sources until the beginning of the 13th century, nor do we have any information about the work existing in the form in which we know it prior to this period.
In Numbers Rabbah the concluding subject is the erection of the Tabernacle; hence, when the redactor reached this topic he concluded with praise of Moses for devoting his life to the Tabernacle.
Almost everyone who cites this midrashic work and refers to Numbers Rabbah by name treats it as a single work, and apparently the date when the two parts were united was not long after the first part was composed; indeed, the unification may have been done by the redactor of Numbers Rabbah part I, himself.

Beacons on the Talmud's Sea: A Perplexing Purim Feast
During their feast, while Rabbah and Rav Zeira were indulging in deep mystic secrets - and drinking wine, in a manner parallel to that described by the Shaloh - Rabbah "stood up," i.e., he rose to a higher level of mystic understanding.
Rabbah's responsibility for Rav Zeira's death is thus merely an error of judgment; he thought that Rav Zeira could, as Rabbah himself did, contain his soul despite becoming aware of these mystical truths.
Rabbah hoped that in the year that had passed, Rav Zeira had progressed in his Divine service to the point that he would be able to receive the mystic secrets from Rabbah without having his soul expire.

Concerning Rabbah, it was not a question of violating the principle of G-d wants souls to stay in bodies because he knew that the next day he would bring him back to life.

Tales of the Neighborhood: CHAPTER ONE
Leviticus Rabbah is distinguished by its elaborate and unified compositional scheme and by the superb quality of its narrative style.
Leviticus Rabbah includes no less than four narratives in which the encounter of women neighbors either is the focus of the narrative or plays a central role in it.
Whereas the narrative of the two baking neighbor women in Leviticus Rabbah itself does not involve a gender conflict (although it emerges in several of its later parallels), such a conflict is explicitly present in the context of the chapter as a whole.

The pitdah was the stone of Simeon (Targum Yonathan; BeMidbar Rabbah 2:7).
The Midrash (BeMidbar Rabbah 2:7) states that the colors of the stones on this row were 'sky-blue, fl, white.' There is evidence (see note, this verse, 'sapphire'), that the first two colors are transposed, and the reading should be 'fl, sky-blue, white,' so that this would agree that the nophekh was fl.
Josephus renders it as jasper, but his is probably a transposition with the next stone in the Septuagint, which in turn is a transposition with the last stone (see note, this verse, 'beryl').
