The County Cricket Ground, usually shortened to County Ground and previously known as the Racecourse Ground, is a cricket ground in Derby and has been the home of Derbyshire County Cricket Club since at least 1871.
It also held the games of Derby County until their move to the Baseball Ground in 1895.
The first FA Cup final outside London was held at the ground in 1886 when Blackburn Rovers beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 in a replay.

Drawn replays are now settled with extra time and kicks from the penalty mark (penalty shootouts), though in the past further replays were possible, and some ties took as many as six matches to settle.
The semi-finals are contested at neutral venues; in the past these have usually been the home grounds of teams not involved in that semi-final, such as Old Trafford in Manchester, Villa Park in Birmingham and Hillsborough in Sheffield.
In 1903 Bury defeated Derby County 6-0, in what is still the highest score in an FA Cup final.

 Derby County
In the BASEBALL GROUND, their home for over 100 years, they also had one of the most evocative grounds in the country where some of the greatest names in British Football played for the Rams week in, week out.
The early years of the 1900's was dominated by STEVE BLOOMER, a prominent Derby striker, whose record of 332 goals for the Rams (to 1913) is unlikely ever to be beaten, at least not in the current football climate.
After escaping from that division two years later, Derby spent the early part of the 1960s struggling in the Second Division, but it was only in the later half of the decade that saw the Rams making several important signings that was to lead to the most successful decade in their history.

 Manx racecourses
The first racecourse noted was that instituted by James VIIth earl of Derby who organised races on a piece of land extending rather more than a mile across the peninsula of Langness - a description of one of these in 1687 was entered at the Rolls Office.
Land at Langness continued to be known as the racecourse though it would seem that races were athletics rather than horse-racing.
The next racecourse was one established at the Strang, adjacent to the newly opened Lunatic Asylum,(probably on the same field as one-time used for the Strang Fair in the early 19th century), which was opened on Thursday and Friday, July 14 and 15, 1870

Cricinfo - Grounds - County Ground, Derby
Known as The Racecourse Ground for many years, Derbyshire's ground has often looked in the same dilapidated state as the team.
Due to its horsey location, the ground can often be exposed to the elements, especially during a typical April or May day, so only the hardiest of supporters (and Derbyshire fans need to be a hardy bunch) will watch from the stands.
Perhaps the most famous part of the ground is Carol's Cabin, a food caravan that serves some of best pies on the county circuit.
