  Radhasoamis
Radhasoami is the Supreme Being who appeared in the world as Sant Satguru, the perfect saint and guru, who taught the practice of Surat Sabda Yoga, the yoga or union of the surat, soul, with the sabda, the spirit-current or word.
The Radhasoami Satsang was founded in Agra in 1861 by a banker named Shiv Dayal Sahib (1818-1878) when he publicly proclaimed his doctrine.
After Maharaj Sahib the succession was disputed and the movement split into the Radhasoami Satsang (Soamibagh) which was the original colony, and the Radhasoami Satsang (Dayalbagh), a new colony surrounding the Soamibagh colony on three sides.

Satsang, externally the congregation of earnest devotees of the truth, and internally the communion of the soul with God.
Central to the teachings of Radhasoami and surat shabd yoga is the necessity of a living human master who is competent in initiating disciples into the practice and technique of listening to the inner sound (bhajan), contemplating the inner light (dhyan), and leaving the human body at will (dying while living).
When these satsangs use the name "Radhasoami" as a description of their practices, it is in contradistinction to what Rai Salig Ram and his followers believe.

Radhasoami is surely a case in point, since it has never been unified and has never shown any type of consistent harmony.
The Beas satsang sells over one hundred titles in several different languages and has launched a well organized campaign to place several of their English titles in libraries around the world.
This has been especially true in Radhasoami Satsang Beas related movements, where the designated representative serves more or less as mouthpiece for the guru and receives in turn much of the respect that the guru would receive if he or she were present.

And though there are groups which speak of this "Sound Current" which are both anterior and exterior to the Radhasoami tradition, all of the new movements under discussion have based their knowledge and writings on Radhasoami's own particular interpretation of Surat Shabd Yoga, the practice of uniting the soul with the internal sound energy.
The name Radhasoami has been generally applied to those gurus and gaddis (the seat/residence of a saint, living or deceased) who trace their spiritual lineages back to Shiv Dayal Singh (1818-1878), the proclaimed founder of the movement who resided in the city of Agra, in the Uttar Pradesh District of India.

To be sure, Radhasoami masters have not necessarily explained away such increased numbers to better telephone networks, but they have been well aware of how the evolution of the communication industry has led to new opportunities to advance the message of Sant Mat.
Today most Beas satsangis have never even heard of the book, much less read it--even though it was one of the cardinal texts that early American satsangis used in their spiritual readings.
