	Giant Radio 'Eyeball' Readied for Mega-Telescope
		The SKA is designed to be 100 times bigger than today's largest radio telescopes, all the better to capture the weak whispers from the early Universe.
		Australia will unveil these plans at a major international meeting on the SKA that starts on 9 July at the University of California Berkeley.
		The countries currently participating in the international SKA consortium are Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Italy, Poland, The Netherlands, Sweden, the U.K. and the United States.

	Community Radio
		Radio Disc Jockey (RDJ) was set up, originally to make tapes of music to be played in Old People's Homes, but when one of the group had a brother conscripted to fight in the Vietnam War the group changed its plans and sent taped programmes to cheer up the troops fighting in Vietnam.

		Radio Australia, which broadcasts in English and the Bahasa Indonesia language, has not been easily heard in Asia for several years after the federal government sold off its transmitters as a cost-cutting measure.
