BBC Radio Cumbria - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Radio Cumbria claims to be listened to by one third of the county's population.
Radio Cumbria is unusual among BBC local radio stations in that its coverage area does not correspond exactly with a BBC television "region".
On FM, Radio Cumbria broadcasts to northern Cumbria on 95.6 MHz (Sandale) - suitable for drivers on the M6 north of Penrith - and to the south of the county on 96.1 MHz (Morecambe Bay), with lower-powered relays on 95.2 MHz (Kendal), 104.1 MHz (Whitehaven) and 104.2 MHz (Windermere).

BBC Radio Cornwall - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
BBC Radio Cornwall is the BBC Local Radio service for the Cornwall, in the United Kingdom, also covering the Isles of Scilly.
Prior to its launch on 17 January 1983, BBC regional radio broadcasting for Cornwall amounted to the breakfast show 'Morning Sou'West' on the AM frequencies of Radio 4 in Devon and Cornwall.
Initially Radio Cornwall shared an afternoon programme with BBC Radio Devon, but now sustains a full daytime service, linking with other BBC local stations in the south-west and west for a regional evening service.

 Border Country | GeoHistory
As Radio Cumbria is part of the large BBC North East region, the Look North Cumbrian correspondent Judy Ingham is based at Radio Cumbria and has access to a television studio, driven from Newcastle, where she can edit and present material or interview guests.
Unlike Radio Cumbria, which has 20 journalists and sports commentators, most of the staff employed at CFM are DJs in the Radio 1/2 mould and news staff total three, as the station is mainly concerned with playing pop music, and its news bulletins last a maximum of five minutes.
Sandale houses the main Radio Cumbria transmitter, broadcasting on 96.4FM, although poor reception in West Cumbria led to the introduction of a new frequency of 104.1FM in 1997 from the Whitehaven FM transmitter.

Radio Rewind - Interactive - Your View 5
Radio 1, for all it stole its ideas and presenters from the pirates, was a move into the swinging sixties for the BBC and rapidly became extremely popular.
Radio 2 is still excellent in parts, especially from 7.00 to 2.00 during the day, and through the night, but the way it's going is worrying as it's becoming like a lighter Radio 1 and competiting head on with Radio 1, which is pointless.
Radio 1 was now trapped in a ghetto that was great for indie and dance fans, but totally unbearable for everyone else and no had the ultimate insult of being overtaken by Radio 2 in the ratings.
