 Radio Hall of Fame - William Conrad, Adventure / Drama
One of radio’s consummate actors, William Conrad was born in September of 1920 in Louisville, Kentucky.
Conrad’s longest-running role was that of U.S. marshal Matt Dillon on the groundbreaking radio western Gunsmoke, which aired on CBS radio from 1952 to 1961.
William Conrad was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1997.

 Bay Area Radio | Hall Of Fame
BERKELEY — The first class of inductees into the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame was feted during the quarterly luncheon of the Broadcast Legends on Wednesday, December 6, in front of a capacity audience of 125 well-wishers at the Doubletree Hotel on the Berkeley Marina.
For the near future, the Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame will exist primarily on the Internet at www.barhof.com, although a permanent exhibit is planned at the old KRE radio studios in Berkeley, which are being refurbished by the California Historical Radio Society (CHRS).
The Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame is spearheaded by the Bay Area Radio Museum, which is an affiliate of the Broadcast and Newspaper Museum of Northern California consortium, which also includes CHRS and the Broadcast Legends.

One of the most popular and controversial figures in radio, Walter Winchell was born April 7, 1897 in New York City.

Country Radio Broadcasters welcomed Terry Dorsey, Lon Helton and Arch Yancey into its Country Music DJ Hall of Fame and Jonathan Fricke and Ed Salamon into the Country Radio Hall of Fame in ceremonies held at the Nashville Convention Center on Feb. 14.
In his acceptance speech, Fricke noted that he once worked for a station whose budget was so small that "the news department was a newspaper." On the first day of his first job, he continued, he had to announce that President Kennedy had just been shot.
Fricke was active in radio as an air personality and manager from 1963 to 1981.
