That is why the Raelian scenario is abhorrent as well as implausible: The fact that someone else has the same genes as you does not give you a right to treat him as a means to an end, as a tool in your quest for immortality or an empty vessel for your consciousness.

I admit it was funny watching the Raelians capture the world's attention with an empty assertion of a successful human cloning procedure; however, it was the public's reaction to the cloning claim, or more specifically the reaction to the Raelians, I found especially enjoyable.
The Raelian and Christian cults represent essentially identical "ways of knowing." Extraordinary claims are made, which are not able to be disproved.
