Single-Pass Multitexturing is being used by leading-edge games to process multiple textures to create special effects, the concept being that you would render both an object and its shadow, or an object and a lighting map to enhance the image.
The RAGE 128 answers the call of the developers as it enables them to pull two textures to create these special effects together on the fly with no performance loss.
ATI designed the RAGE 128 chip to use bilinear and trilinear filtering which provides the required filtering benefits near that of anisotropic filtering without the performance degradation that is normally required for anisotropic filtering.

"Living" Hero - Page 2 - HERO GAMES Discussion Boards
Hero Games can be as much or as little involved as they chose and thier time investment would be nominal and would reap great rewards in terms of increased sales.
The primary advantage of the living format is you get to play YOUR character and you can do it whenever you can get a group together to play or when you go to a locally run convention or when you go to a national or international convention.
With all that said, I am not at all sure that hero system is suitable for a living campaign because of the flexibility of character generation and design.

Rag doll physics became all the rage when CPU power permitted its use in games to simulate realistic falling dead bodies instead of the rigid, hand-made and pre-scripted animations gamers were used to seeing.
I know that if Jay feels that a game that you have to pay a little something for is worth his time to post a review on it, when he could use that time to post free games, than that game must definately be worth it.
Also, as far as the timing of the game is concerned (damn there are a lot of features Mark has packed into this game) on the options screen, you can actually change the rate at which time passes in the game(!), hence you can slooooow things down, or speed 'em up if you prefer.
