| | : RevolutionSF - RahXephon Volume 2: Tonal Pattern : Review |
 | | All the cool mindf[il]k elements from the first volume, like Ayato's mom having alien blood, Ayato discovering that Tokyo is actually 15 years behind the rest of the world, and that the alien invaders might actually be his own people, are kinda dismissed here, though. |
 | | We get jealous reactions from that girl over the strange attention shown to Ayato by another girl, who just so happens to be the deeply mysterious sort who spends a suspicious amount of time getting medical tests run on her. |
 | | If you've never seen "Evangelion", you'll eat this stuff up with a spoon, as the excellent character interaction draws you in (with, fortunately, characters that are a HELL of a lot more sympathetic and appealing than the ones in "Eva"), and the later plot developments dealing with the show's central mysteries are set up. |
