 Ray Bradbury - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Ray Douglas Bradbury (born August 22, 1920) is an American fantasy, horror, science fiction, and mystery writer known best for The Martian Chronicles, a 1950 book which has been described both as a short story collection and a novel, and his 1953 dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451.
Ray Bradbury (his given name is not Raymond) was born in Waukegan, Illinois to a Swedish immigrant mother and a father who was a telephone lineman.
In 1951–1954, twenty-seven of Ray Bradbury's stories were adapted by Al Feldstein for EC Comics, sixteen of which were collected in the books The Autumn People (1965) and Tomorrow Midnight (1966).

Ray was 6 years old at the time and looking through the red and green anaglyphic glasses at the 3-D comic page created an impression on Ray that never left him.
When "Three-Dimension Comics" featuring Mighty Mouse sold a million copies in less than a week (at 25 cents each when most 4-color comics were selling for a dime) the publisher wanted to convert all St. John comics to 3-D in a big hurry.
Ray is a member of the Stereo Club of Southern California, the National Stereoscopic Association, The Stereoscopic Society, the International Stereoscopic Union and the Third Dimension Society.

There are so many great comics lying around his studio table, they are of so many different genres and styles and he spends days drawing them but in the end he just throws them around like they’re trash or something.
Ray said he likes your art but I think he is stupid to think so, its like a great artist liking Henry Darger 6 year old’s drawings.
Ray is not like you loser sending time in front of his computer in chatroom and email fighting with people, hes a talented songwriter on the keyboard and guitar and a good essay writer too.

When you hear peoples' arguments for physical comics as opposed to online comics, they often say they like to be able to put it in their pocket and pull it out on the train.
DS: The more I talk to people about what comics mean to them the more I thing the printed page is a defining feature, visiting a web site just can't match the ease of use and portability of an A5 mini.

If you're not a comics fan, or never heard of Alex Toth, it's hard to explain why he was so important.

PS: Here’s a tip for young comic book artists: If you want to keep the identity of the masked villain (or, as I liked to say back then, “badguy”) a surprise, don’t reveal it on the cover.
One that stands out in my mind was a comic I did based on the movie the Dark Crystal.

As a former (?) comic nerd who never reached uber-nerd status by combining that love with a love of science, it was interesting to see these two authors take one love to attack another, particularly as they digress into science topics that are clearly their favourites.
The chapter that is the most fascinating, though, is the loving one on Donald Duck comics at the end of the book.
I'm not saying superhero comics are some great repositiory of scientific knowledge, far from it, but jeez.
