		The game is a vertically scrolling shootem up with the usual array of power-up's, ground based targets (both moving and static) and ariel targets and with some of the coolest end of level bosses I've seen for a while..
		The origonal raiden (Raiden 1) is not amazing to look at graphics wise but as it's one of my fave games in the arcade I can truly say that it's arcade perfect in every respect.
		The first smartbomb is the same as raiden one (causes a huge round exposion infront of you) the second is much cooler to watch (lots of small rockets fire around your craft and expode on the ground) but i don't think it kills bosses quite as well as the round one...

		Game Description: Raiden is a classic arcade shooter that came out in the arcades by Fabtek and was then converted to the Jaguar as one of the first Jaguar games ever.
		In this game Mother Earth has fallen to aliens and you must pitch a counerattack as you are the pilot of the Raiden Supersonic.
		The downside is this is a fairly old arcade game so despite the beyond perfect graphical conversion it still did not take too much advantage of the Jaguars capabilities.

		Granted, it is based on an early 90's arcade game, and therefore, I could be forgiving of that.
		Raiden Trad may have five levels of difficulty, but I was hard-pressed to find much difference between them, other than the number of continues you're given.

		A bit of a swizzle the Raiden DX disk actually, it's just a slightly jazzed up version of Raiden Project, and to be honest I can't see THAT much difference with it anyway.
		I wish the developers would stop milking the game for all it's worth and move on though, they do seem to be stuck in a wee bit of a Raiden rut, and it must be said it never was the very best shooter anyway!
		Raiden 2 has a lot of aesthetic touches, especially the way the enemies blow up and scatter hundreds of parts around.

	AGH Lynx Review -- Raiden
		Raiden is based, as the name kind of suggests, on the Seibu Kaihatsu arcade hit shooter.
		What gave the game charm was its booming soundtrack and huge explosions, much of which was surprisingly preserved in Atari's color portable version.
		In Raiden's case, it's not the end of the world when it happens, as the game isn't so hectic that you can't recover when you're back to square one.

		Two player simultaneous with 2 controllers An arcade classic makes its way to the Jaguar - Raiden is a faithful conversion of the late 80's arcade game.
		The landscapes are detailed, and look very much like the arcade version, even down to the "wandering cow" in the middle of the herd on stage 1.
		It may be an exacting copy, but the music isn't that great in the first place, at least to me. The music changes when you fight the boss monsters that end each level, so when the music starts to sound ominous, watch out for a spray of bullets.
