Customs officals said today Kishore Nanawali an NRI, was arrested on charges of evasion of customs duty to the tune of Rs 2.5 crore as he did not declare the diamonds which he was carrying in a briefcase.
The five NRIs had alighted from an Uzbekistan airline flight from London yesterday and were all detained after DRI officals found the diamonds in the possession of Kishore Nanawali who was today sent to judicial custody after registeration of a case.
